We have been learning to write persuasively.
We know that persuade means to make the reader agree with you, to think the same as you or to take action.
We are starting to feel excited about the hot weather because it means we will soon be going swimming in the school pool. But, there is a problem. Four classes swim at the same time and there are only 31 flutter boards, 16 noodles and 0 dive sticks. That's not enough for everyone to share.
So, we wrote letters to Mr Gifkins to persuade him to buy some more swimming gear. We were so persuasive that Mr Gifkins is spending $400 on new gear to help us learn how to swim.

I think you need some more swimming gear for our school pool. Pretty please! We will do anything if you just let us have new gear. There are one hundred kids so it will make it easier for the teachers. They need the gear so it makes it easier for them to teach the kids to swim. I love swimming. It would be great if we had more swimming gear.

Could you please give Mrs Beswick the school visa card and get some more flutter boards, noodles and dive sticks so we can learn how to swim so we don't drown in pools. There is a problem, we only have 31 flutter boards, 16 noodles and no dive sticks. So, please can you get the card to buy some more because we have 100 kids in the pool at once.

I think we need more flutter boards, noodles and dive sticks for our BIG AMAZING pool because there's not enough for four classes to swim at the same time. If you don't then we won't learn to swim which is bad because we will drown.

I think swimming is important because if you learn to swim you won't drown in the sea. I think you should get some more flutter boards, noodles and dive sticks for the juniors because some need them to learn. I love swimming so I think you should get this swimming gear.

I think we need some more flutter boards and noodles and dive sticks because some are broken and there are not enough. We really want to learn backstroke and freestyle but we need flutterboards. PLEASE!
